Lindsey’s Law Information (Ohio Revised Code 3707.52)
In compliance with Ohio’s Lindsey’s Law, all athletes and parents/guardians must review the required Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) information and submit a signed acknowledgment form annually before participation in practice or competition.
What is Lindsey’s Law?
Lindsey’s Law was enacted in Ohio to help prevent Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in youth athletes.
The law is named after Lindsey Scott, a 16-year-old Ohio student athlete who tragically passed away due to an undiagnosed heart condition.
The law requires:
• Annual review of Sudden Cardiac Arrest information by parents and athletes
• Annual signed acknowledgment form from both parent and athlete
• Immediate removal from play if an athlete exhibits signs or symptoms of SCA
• Written medical clearance before returning to participation
